Here’s what others are saying about Bowl Abilities

Jacqui Jones – Transition Officer (School-beyond) at Warnbro Education Support Centre:
The program has been fantastic for our student’s confidence and acceptance that you don’t have to be perfect to be able to teach someone the basics of a sport and be involved. It would be great to see this program continue and the proposal of getting current participants to become mentors for the next group going through, is a fantastic leadership opportunity. For one participant who is leaving school this year and I feel this program has fulfilled its purpose knowing that he has a ongoing network outside of the school community. He plans to continue the program as a participant and mentor to help other people with disabilities learn how to bowl. I will be definitely be sending some more students next year to be a part of this great opportunity…

Beth Hasell – Community Capacity Builder – Local Area Coordinator, APM Communities, Rockingham
This is an amazing program that provides ample opportunities to participants in the areas of leadership, social participation and physical activity. Watching the participants of the pilot program engage with each other and hearing about all of the fantastic outcomes that are occurring has been so inspiring. The program structure ensures that the participants are supported to thrive and have opportunities that often extend beyond the realms of the program. The participants have not only learned new skills but have also built friendships, and consequently, confidence and a willingness to give anything a go. It is clear that the program’s participants are so engaged by the facilitators and have a lot of fun in the process. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to not only improve their bowling skills, but also those looking to make meaningful connections and friendships and build their self-esteem and confidence to thrive across all areas of life.
